David Schulz. 74, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the mortuary. Cremation will follow the visitation. David was born February 24, 1940 in Rock Island, IL, the son of George and Velma (Gorsuch) Schulz. He married Tracy Ritter on December 9, 2006 in West Liberty, IA.
David grew up in Calamus, IA and was a Police Officer for 6 years in LeClaire, IA and served as a Marshall in Durant, IA. He was employed at Alcoa for 35 years and was a very hard worker who loved to fish, hunt, dance and sing. He loved his family and the Lord, never met a stranger and could always make you smile. He was a member of the West Liberty Rotary, Chordbusters and West Liberty’s Neighborhood Watch.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy; children, Kathy Wall, Brian (Dawn) Schulz, and George Schulz; stepdaughter, Kim (Bill) Kleimeyer; siblings, Bernelda Jacobsen and Gerry (Vicki) Schulz, grandchildren, Roman, Cassie, Jesse, Josh, Dani, Madelyn, Levi and Lily; many nieces and nephews; and four-legged spoiled baby, Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank.
