Daniel Carl Hansen, 69, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Daniel was born May 15, 1944 in Moline, IL; the son of Carl Christian and Astrid (Frederickson) Hansen. He was united in marriage to Susan Wanzel on September 2, 1967 in Davenport.
He served in the US Navy from 1962 until 1966; stationed on the USS Saratoga. He had been employed for thirty years at ALCOA prior to his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, & playing ducky with his dog Millie. Dan was an avid sports fan; and especially loved watching any teams his grandchildren were playing on and watching the Chicago Bears. Being a staunch Republican, he loved watching the O’Reilly Factor and any political debating.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Susan, Davenport; daughters: Jamie (Jeff) Rosecrans, Brimfield, IL and Angela (Daniel) Campbell, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren: Ryan, Sara and Jacob Rosecrans; grand fur babies: Mojo, Oskar and Greta; Brother David (Joan) Hansen, Silvis, IL; sister, Dora Jean Hansen, Moline, IL; brother-in-law, Bob (Barb) Wanzel, St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
