Aunt Cheryl, I can't put into words what I've been feeling. I'm still in shock and don't know when everything will hit me. I'll still be expecting to hear from you next weekend to see the kids. This has been hard. On Wednesday I could tell my kids knew you were no longer with us and it killed me. Ill make sure they forever remember you! You loved them sooo much. Thank You sooo much for all you did. 
We had sooo many great memories together. Ones that really stick out were recent with my kids. We went on walks to the park, went to Lost Island, out to eat, went swimming in Connies pool, and went to the fair/concert with you n Rick. I'll never forget these memories! Not being able to see you every other weekend will be hard but I'll never forget you! R.I.P and until we meet again!

Breaks my heart to hear of Cheryl's passing. As a former colleague, Cheryl was one of my favorite people to visit with on a daily basis in the production room at the Quad City Times. She brought laughter, sarcasm and equal mix of kindness to any room she was in.  My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Praying for peace and comfort during this time.

I had the privilege to be the physical education teacher at wonderful old Saint Patricks Shamrocks School in Cedar Rapids and to have those great Pierce girls in my classes.  Pretty little Cheryl, polite and fun.  I had a riot and hopefully the kids did too. The deafening roar of the pin soccer in that classic old gymnasium that the kids would produce, - the thrill, laughter and joy that the kids would emit is like Jim Croce’s song “Time in a Bottle”,
and I frequently think back on those times and vivid memories.  The happiest of times.  The best of times. Those memories lift me from my darkest of days.

My sincerest condolences to Cheryl's husband, family and friends. Cheryl will be missed by many. I'll miss my visits and correspondences with her when visiting and working with the Quad City Times. Cheryl was truly one of a kind.

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. Though I haven't seen her in a long time, I have such fond memories of our childhood. Hanging in the neighborhood,  at your house, playing basketball together at the Y; many happy times.  What a blessing she was to so many, I pray your  memories give you comfort; and you can find many reasons to smile among your tears.

I remember the day I got married and Aunt Cheryl wasn’t able to watch me walk down the aisle because she went to the place we had the reception and got the food ready for us. 2 years later I was divorced. We walked the breast cancer walk every year for my cousin Sam and one year later she said “do you ever think you’ll get married again?” I was surprised she’d ask so I said “oh Aunt Cheryl I don’t know, why?” She said “I didn’t get to watch you walk down the aisle and that’s all I want.” I wish she was here, but someday if I ever get married again she will be apart of my special day, I’ll make sure of it. I love you Aunt Cheryl. May your beautiful soul rest in paradise. Until we see each other again. Love always your niece Ashley!

My beautiful sister Cheryl, I love you so much, this is a new level of pain losing my big sister. I hope your journey was peaceful and you are rejoicing in heavens glory.
I will miss you so much. I want to thank you for helping care for dad and mom the past several years, I know they appreciated your company and cooked meals. 
Years ago, Cheryl had won tickets to a San Francisco 49ers game when they retired Joe Montana’s jersey, I am a loyal 49ers fan and I tried desperately to persuade her to take me along, she did not. When she got to San Francisco she called to tell me she was thinking about selling the tickets and going across the bay! This is when the Raiders played in Oakland and I gave her an earful if she did that! She was only teasing me!  She brought me home photos, a t-shirt and newspaper clippings of the ceremony and I still cherish those gifts.
We spoke often and they were never quick calls. I will miss those phone calls. My sister and I shared a love of purses and beach vacations.
She would be so bossy to me and I would tell her “you are not the boss of me!” and she would say “Listen Carmen Mae, I am your big sister and I can tell you what to do” I usually backed down from her and just let her continue.
Sis you were a blessing from God and my faith will comfort me knowing you are in heaven and I will see you again.
You made me so proud and I loved being your baby sister. May you rest in heavenly peace, my sweet sister.

My condolences goes out to the Mary and Claude Pierce family and Uncle Rick. Such a kind soul gone to soon. Cheryl will be greatly greatly missed.

My brother and I use to go and stay at her old apartment when our parents would go to concerts or something in Davenport. She didn't have much of a selection of movies, but she did have an OG Nintendo. We play duck hunt or mario brothers. Play with her cat Tigger. 
She would gave us some money to go to the bar and have fun.  When she over watching Grandma we talk politics, religion and sports. Especially since she was a Raiders fan and I'm Broncos fan. So we trash talk a lot, but it was fun.

My granddaughter Haisley will definitely miss Aunt Cheryl and all the fun times they shared when they were together and when apart.  When Cheryl would spend time in Cedar Rapids with Haisley they would FaceTime Rick, we always joked that Rick had to come to Cedar Rapids so Haisley didn’t think he lived in the phone.  As with Kinnick, I will never let Haisley forget the love Aunt Cheryl gave her and the way Haisley would smile when the FaceTime connected.  Love you and miss you so much ❤️

My sister loved, adored and enjoyed every visit with my grandkids.  Kinnick will miss the fun times he had with Aunt Cheryl, she was so good to him.  I will continue as long as I’m here to share pictures and videos of the two of you.  We will miss you dearly Cheryl.  Fly high my beautiful sister until we meet again.

I worked with Cheryl for almost 22 years. The last few years we shared the same office space. There was no topic of conversation off limits. We shared so many laughs. I'll miss you my friend. Sending love and prayers to Rick and the rest of her family.

I worked with Cheryl for over 10 years at the Quad-City Times. She was my "aunt" Cheryl and one of the best people to be around. I always loved bringing my babies in to visit, she was always the first one at the door to scoop them out of their car seats. Cheryl will be tremendously missed. Her family will be in my prayers during this difficult time.

Oh Cheryl, I can’t believe you’re gone. I remember all the fun times us cousins had when we got together when we were kids. Unfortunately as we got older, we didn’t see each other as much but the love was always there. We will never know why, but the good Lord seems to always take the best ones. Rest in Peace my sweet, kind beautiful cousin. Until we meet again.

Cheryl was a dear coworker of mine for five years at the  Quad-City Times. She had such a fun-loving personality! To this day, I remember her stories and her laugh. She was one of the few  people I’ve met in my professional life who was friendly right off the bat. She will be missed by so many!

I just saw Cheryl at a family funeral, gave her a big hug and thought about all the times we got together as kids. She was a good person and so kind. She will be missed. The world lost a good one.

We were so very lucky to have such a great friend and neighbor.  Cheryl and Rick were always there when we needed them.  She was always treating our pups. William was her favorite. Here's Tigger with our granddaughter,  Althea. She was always so loving with the little ones. We're going to miss you tremendously,  Cheryl.  Rest peacefully my dear.

Cheryl was a wonderful person to work with! We met in the early 1990’s and visited almost every day at the Quad-City Times. Husband, Steve, and I considered Cheryl a friend.

Cheryl was an amazing person. I appreciated her help and knowledge so much when I worked with her. She will be greatly missed.

During the 8 years of working with Cheryl at the Times, we teamed up on a number of different projects, she was always a huge help and great to talk with. I remember some great conversations sitting with her at her desk. She was one of the good ones and will be missed.

I knew Cheryl through working together at the QCT. While I was not there long, I thought of Cheryl as a friend. She was a firecracker at times, but she was always a sweet soul. Prayers for comfort, peace, and understanding to your family from ours.

I had the honor of working with Cheryl for somewhere around 30 years.  Her big smile and wonderful sense of humor made days much brighter. We laughed so much together over the years. Thank you for all the wonderful memories my friend. I will always remember you with love.

I only worked with Cheryl for 2 months, but she is one of the most memorable people I have ever met.  She was so funny and kind, always asking me questions to help me feel comfortable at a new job. Cheryl was my best friend for more than 35 years. We had many wonderful adventures together - shopping, Cubs games, drinks and dancing at Duffy's, lunches, trips to Memphis, Chicago and St. Louis. She was there for me after my husband died and nursed me through my battle with breast cancer. I will miss her dearly, but will always treasure my memories of her.
