Catherine Marlene Mullins

Catherine Marlene (Spencer) Mullins, 59, of Blue Grass, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

She was born Christina Viola Smith on March 7, 1954 to Junior and Edna (Loseau) Smith. She was the adopted daughter of James and Edna (Harms) Spencer.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Mullins, Jr. on June 7, 1980. Cathy was a waitress at Riefes for 27 years. Most recently, she worked for the Homeinsted Senior Services. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and went on several cruises.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 33 years, Virgil; sons: Jamey (Kristi) Morgan; Keith (Danielle) Morgan and Matt Mullins, all of Davenport; grandchildren: Brooke, Douglas, Nicholas, Ryan, Zackary and Samantha Morgan; Elizabeth Baylor; Matthew Mullins and Logan Caine Mullins; great granddaughter, Alleah Morgan; sisters: Vicki (David) Defauw, Rock Island, IL; Dianna (Richard) Waters, Jasper, Ark; Tina (Tim) Farmer, Burgman, Ark; brothers: Mike (Thelma) Smith, Joe Smith, all of Harrison, Ark; Bill (Gail) Nix and Edna Mae Nix, Marion, IA; step-sisters: Nancy, Kathy and Barbara; step-brother, James; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Angie, Nancy and Dee. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Edna Spencer, birth father, Junior Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Mullins; one grandson, Michael Mullins, Jr.; sister, Jennifer Hardman and her grandparents.
