Those wishing to attend should meet at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary on Wednesday at 10:30 am. A private family gathering to celebrate Brandon's life will be held at the Renwick Mansion in Davenport. Mr. Stevens passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.
Brandon Scott Stevens was born on June 13, 1979 in Davenport, the youngest son of Steven and Linda (Newman) Stevens. Following in the footsteps of his father and oldest brother, Brandon was a veteran who served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard as an Intelligence Specialist. A driven academic, he held Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Intelligence Studies and General Studies as well as a Masters Degree in Political Science with Honors. He was a member of Pi Gamma Mu and the Golden Key Honor Societies. Until recently, he was employed as a Geographer for the Army Corps of Engineers at the Rock Island Arsenal. He left that position in November 2017 to pursue further studies in Computer Sciences and Music Theory. Brandon had a passion for architecture as it pertained to historic homes and structures. One of his many life goals was to find that special, but neglected, vintage old house and return it to a state of grandeur thus preserving its place in history. He also had a fascination with paranormal science, interacting with professional researchers and conducting first-hand investigations. Brandon also enjoyed genealogy research and spent countless hours meticulously weaving together his family history for all to share. Aside from his music studies; he wrote, arranged, performed, and published numerous original electronic music compositions. Compassionate and giving, Brandon continually placed the well-being and concerns of others truly ahead of his own.
Those left to cherish his memory are his Parents: Steven (Linda) Stevens of Davenport; Brother: Aaron (LeeAnn) Stevens of Sanford, NC; Niece: Annabelle Stevens of Sanford; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Newman Sr.
Memorials may be made in Brandon's name to a charity or activity of the donor's choice.
