Angel Lopez Jr.

Angel Lopez Jr., age 17, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2022 in Rock Island, Illinois. A public visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Weerts Funeral Home. A private funeral mass will take place at a later date with burial to follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Angel was born on October 2, 2004 to Angel Sr. and Arcelia Lopez in Davenport, Iowa. He was a student at Central High School with many aspirations and hobbies. Outside of school, Angel was an active member and volunteer at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Angel dedicated much of his time to boxing and exercising. He trained at Beasly’s Downtown Boxing Club, finding a community with other steadfast individuals. Angel also loved listening to music, dancing, and admiring nice cars, especially his own. He held a special place in his heart for his dog, Zeus. Most of all, Angel was a loving brother and son who will be missed dearly.

Those left to carry on his memory include his parents, Angel Sr. and Arcelia Lopez; brothers, Nicolas Lopez, Jose Lopez, Gael Lopez, Juan Lopez; godparents, Ignacio Rico, Maria Rico, Juan Garcia, Fabiola Garcia; girlfriend, Christina; and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Angel was proceeded in death by his grandparents Nicolas Lopez, Quirino Tellez, Victoria Jaramillo, and Concecion Pantoja.
