It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Sayer announces his passing at the Maplestone Enhanced Care Facility in Halifax at the age of 58, on November 24, 2016, after a long and hard-fought battle with MS. Born in Halifax, he is survived by brothers, Frank (Margot), David (Donna), sisters, Mary Leigh, Janet Holte and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Edna (Dashwood) Sayer. Peter loved the outdoors and travelling. He worked as a machinist in Halifax, Calgary and Bermuda, and as a maintenance diver on oil rigs offshore of NS. He later earned a BSc in Nutrition from Acadia University (1996). Fondly remembered by his special friend Lynn Eyland, and many lifelong friends from the Dartmouth Camp crew. Many, many thanks to all of the wonderful staff at Maplestone who cared and laughed with him for over 11 years and treated him like family. Peter and his family truly appreciate their care, kindness and love. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 11am in A. L. Matattall Funeral Home.
