Mary Eileen "Lynn" Hines

Hines, Mary Eileen “Lynn” - of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Born in Bras d’or, Cape Breton she was the daughter of the late Edward and Cathern (MacDougall) Jessome. She was an active member of her church as well as the CWL and was always willing to lend a helping hand and support for those in need. Lynn always lived life to the fullest and had a positive attitude every day. She was passionate about teaching and has influenced many students in their nursing careers. She was an avid golfer and a member of Hartlen Point Golf Club. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Jim, sons; Sandy (Elaine), Christopher (Heidi), brothers; Lawrence, Barry and Donald, sisters; Millie and Patricia, grandsons; Spencer, Jacob, Benjamin and Noah, many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by brothers; Daniel, Sandy and Gus, sisters; Margaret, Josephine, Agnes and Claire. Visitation will be held 6 – 8pm Wednesday March 5, 2014 in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Street. Funeral Mass will be held 10 am Thursday March 6, in St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, Gaston Road. Father Gilbert Bertrand, OMI officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer Society. Special thank you to the caregivers that provided Lynn with the exceptional personal care as well as the ongoing care provided to Jim.
