Harley was born to the late Fred Theriault and Celeste Saulnier at Metegan Station on January 16, 1932. He will be lovingly remembered by his common-law wife of 50 years, Loretta Fletcher, her son Stephen and her daughter Lesley (Fitzsimmons), her six grandchildren, plus his surviving brothers Eddie and Walter and his sister, Yvonne, (predeceased by Desiré, Roy and Lorraine). Harley will also be forever remembered by his numerous extended family members and his dear friends and neighbours.
Harley was a hard-working, generous and compassionate man who worked most of his life in the construction trade, mostly painting and odd jobs. He was a very skilled and creative worker and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours. Always busy tending to his house and woodworking projects, he had a special place in his heart for Shayla and Devon, his two grandchildren, and enjoyed planting his garden and watching his vegetables grow. He had a remarkable memory and we will miss sitting around the kitchen table listening to his stories of “back in the day”.
He will be dearly missed. A memorial gathering will be held at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, from 1 to 3 pm on Friday, July 26, 2019.
