Gary Shawn Cooper

COOPER (Hingley), Gary Shawn “Garf”- Age 64, of Dartmouth, passed away April 4, 2023 at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Chilliwack, BC he was the son of the late John Ivan Hingley and Elizabeth Ann MacDonald. Gary was a loyal husband of almost 21 years and a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid gunsman, hunter, and member of the gun club; he loved gardening and spending time with his family and puppy Gigi at their camp. Gary was a man of many talents, he loved to sing, play the harmonica and guitar as well as being very crafty. He was a very proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren who he loved dearly; one grandson Austin Tylor Isenor, and 5 beautiful granddaughters Kaydence Marie Liptrot, Kylee Loretta MacIntyre, Kyla Carter Cooper-Wright, Emma Renee McNulty-Willams, and Isabella May McNulty-Willams. He is survived by his wife Cindy Cooper; his son Michael Cooper (Jen McNulty); daughter Jaime Liptrot; brothers Robert Earl Hingley, Clifford Don Hingley, Craig Anthony Hingley; sisters Sheila Greene, Helene Gilbert, Corina Hingley, Heidi-Marie Hingley-Read; his 6 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his parents; 2 daughters Shawndalee Way, Stephanie Cooper; 2 granddaughters Kloe and Kendelle Visitation will be held Thursday May 4, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at A.L Mattatall’s Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth. Burial May 5, 1pm In Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Association.
