Elsie Vera Myers

.MYERS, ELSIE VERA - 90, of Dartmouth passed away January 18, 2016 at Oakwood Terrace. Born September 15, 1925, in Woodside, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah (Turner) Myers. After graduating from Dartmouth High she went on to a long and rewarding career with the Royal Bank of Canada retiring in 1982 after 42 years of service. Elsie was a devoted and lifelong member of St. Alban's Anglican Church serving as a choir member, ACW member, and a regular Bible Study Group participant. She was a dedicated volunteer at Oakwood Terrace from 1982 until she became a resident in 2009. Elsie was the last surviving member of her immediate family of 11 siblings and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by nieces Jane Hefler and Patricia McIntosh and nephew Michael Currie and their families. She was predeceased by brothers: Sinclair, Roy, Gilbert, Earl, Gerald, Ralph, and Eric; and sisters: Helen Currie, Edna Pick and Joyce (in infancy). Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under the direction of A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday January 23, 2016 at St. Alban’s Church, Dartmouth with Reverend Frances Drolet-Smith officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 345 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 3S4, or any charity.
