COOMBS, Annie Marion – Age 90 of Dartmouth passed away on January 22, 2018 in Glasgow Hall, Parkland At The Lakes, Dartmouth. Born in Great Harbour, NL she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Rose) Harris. Annie’s life was dedicated to her family and her community through the church and many organizations for which she volunteered. Her husband’s career, first in teaching and then the Ministry, took them to various communities in Newfoundland including Stephenville. Annie supported her husband in a leadership role and as a lay reader. She was very active in the Anglican Church Women and a long-standing member of the Girl Guides of Canada. She enjoyed many crafts including knitting, sewing and quilting. Annie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Reverend Hubert Coombs; sons Mel (Heather), Dartmouth and Derek (Melanie), Wolfville; sister Florence Cluett, Chateuequay Centre, PQ; grandchildren Michael (Tamara) Coombs, Jan (Garry) Stewart, Tim (Melanie) Coombs, Tara (Damion) Osmond, Kaitlyn Coombs, Candice (Ben) Coombs; and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Levi Harris and Sandy Harris and sisters Eileen Sheaves and Mary Rose. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, January 27, in the Anglican Church of St. Andrew, 2 Circassion Drive, Cole Harbour. Archdeacon Katherine Bourbonniere officiating.
