Ronald Gordon Avery

Ron's faith in Jesus Christ led him to help found Walnut Hill Community Church and also led him to become a foreign Missionary with his family where he served for 26 years in Christian education in Papua New Guinea, the Black Forest of Germany and Vienna, Austria. Prior to his mission work, Ron was a Mechanical Engineer and a multiple patent holder.

Ron proudly graduated Darien High School and attended the UConn School of Engineering.

Ron was an Army veteran (Sergeant) with a specialty in Artillery Gunnery training.

Ron was predeceased by his father George Sr., mother Virginia (Russo), and brothers George Jr, Roger, and Clifford Sr.

He is survived by his son Mark, daughter Dana and her husband Stuart, daughter Lisa, his brother Albert and his wife Patricia, and sister-in-law Kathy.

The family is so grateful for the exceptional love and care from the Praxair Cancer Center, the nursing staff of Danbury Hospital and Bethel Health Care.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Walnut Hill Community Church (Bethel Campus). The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Jim Bray and Rev. Dr. Stan Allaby on Saturday, September 12th at 1:00pm. 156 Walnut Hill Rd., Bethel, CT 06801 (203) 796-7373.
