Orlando Ferreira

Orlando Ferreira, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on September 27, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1935, in Vila Franca da Serra, Gouveia, Portugal, to the late Manuel dos Santos Ferreira and Eduarda De Sousa Ferreira. At a young age, Orlando moved to Lisbon, where he began his career as a barber/hairdresser, becoming a well-known hairdresser. After immigrating to the United States from Portugal, he attended Americo’s Beauty School. He worked at Howlands as a hairdresser before opening his own businesses, Hair Connection and Orlando’s, where he was proud to work alongside his daughter, Christina, who also took on the role of co-owner and hairdresser at Hair Connection.

Orlando’s greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter, Tiffany. He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria Ferreira; his brother, Antonio "Tony" Ferreira; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Abreu. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Ferreira Saviano; his granddaughter, Tiffany Saviano; his brother, Jose Ferreira (Catherine); his sister, Maria Ferreira Abreu (Joseph); and many other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, 10 :30 am at St Peter Cemetery.
