Mary J. Begley

Mary graduated from Aquinas High School in the Bronx in 1958 and went on to build a successful career at Con Edison, where she worked for 30 years. Known for her strong organizational skills, sharp sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering love for her family, Mary touched the lives of all who knew her.

She married Edward Begley on June 29,1963. Though their marriage ended in divorce, Mary embraced her role as a single mother with strength and dedication. Her son Michael Begley and his wife Anita of New Fairfield, Connecticut were a constant source of pride and joy for her. She was also a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren: Madison (26), Ryan (24), Morgan (22) and Megan (20).

Mary had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed traveling, taking peaceful walks along the beach while collecting sea shells, and was an avid reader.

She is also survived by her brother Thomas Eivers and his wife Denise of Bronxville, New York. Mary’s legacy of kindness and love will live on through her family and the countless memories she created with them. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.

Visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Green Funeral 57 Main St, Danbury, CT, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm.

In lieu flowers the family would like donations made to: The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
