Peg was born in New York City on January, 6, 1957 to Harold and Dorothy George, where she lived until her family moved to Danbury, Connecticut when she was a child. Peg lived in Danbury for the rest of her life and raised her family there. She started working for IBM when she was 19 years old and worked there until she retired as a project manager nearly 45 years later. She was an avid mahjong player and gathered with friends to play regularly. Peg’s interest in cooking meant she was often trying new recipes on her family, always to great success. She was a thoughtful friend, an all-around generous person, and an especially loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter, who was always more than happy to spend time making sure that her loved ones were taken care of.
Peg will be greatly missed by her husband Mark, and sons Greg (Jess) and Eric, her mother Dorothy, her sister Daryn, and brothers Stephen and Michael, as well as numerous other family members and countless friends. Peg’s passing was preceded by her father, Harold, and brother, Tom.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you consider donating to the Closer to Free Fund for Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Peg will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Church in Danbury on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10am.
