Gregory J. Moore

He was born in New York City on May 8, 1941, the son of John and Mary Moore and brother to Jacqueline. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irene; their two children, Kelly and Greg, and daughter-in-law Tonia; his twin granddaughters, Ellie and Aubrey; several nephews and nieces; his faithful companion pup, Mickey, and grand pups, Lucy and Callie.

Raised in Manhattan, Greg got his start working construction in New York and was a member of the Carpenters and Metal Lathers unions. His work ethic and knowledge of carpentry were unrivaled (his sense of humor too).

He moved with his family to New Fairfield in 1973, attended St. Edward the Confessor Church and played third base in the town’s men’s softball league for many years. Greg was a fixture at town hall meetings and could often be found shooting the breeze at the Bake Shop. He enjoyed spending time on his boat, watching his granddaughters compete in volleyball and actively supported several Veterans groups.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Friends will be received from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
