Francine Cunningham

Francine Cunningham, 64, a resident of New Fairfield CT since 1978, died suddenly on February 23, 2016 in the loving presence of her family. She was born on June 24, 1951 to Mary Ecsedy (nee Tichy) and Frank Ecsedy in Fairfield, CT.

A graduate of Andrew Warde HS in Fairfield and the University of Rochester. Fran was a pillar in the New Fairfield community as a longtime member of the Community Service Club, founder of the local Breath of Spring Craft Show and a loyal neighbor and friend. She was the first person ready with a caring card, email or call for anyone who needed it. For 21 years Fran worked at a job she loved at Davis and Hoyt Insurance, retiring in 2008 to care for the joys of her life, her two young grandchildren and her aging mother.

She was predeceased by her father. She is survived by her 94 year old mother Mary Ecsedy, husband of 42 years Thomas K Cunningham, her daughter Emily Cunningham of New Fairfield, daughter Allison and son-in-law Joshua Serfass of Vancouver BC, a brother David and sister-in-law Claire Ecsedy of Needham, MA. Grandchildren Lachlann and Tristan Cunningham of New Fairfield. Brother-in-laws William Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, and sister-in-law Kathleen Cunningham of Denver CO. Sister-in-law Susan Kelly and brother-in-law Scott Kelly of Ho-Ho-Kus NJ. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The viewing will be on February 26 from 5PM to 8PM at Green Funeral Home in Danbury, CT and mass will be held on February 27 at 10 AM at St. Edwards of New Fairfield. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to either the New Fairfield Thrift Shop or the New Fairfield Community Service Club.
