Edwin R. Rivera, age 77, of Danbury CT, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024 at Candlewood Valley Rehabilitation, after a terminal illness. He was the husband of Wanda Rivera and the father of Lynette Rivera.
Eddie was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Angel and Isabel Rivera. He moved to the Bronx , NY when he was 3 years old. He was a 1965 graduate of Roosevelt High School. Eddie then matriculated at Bronx Community College.
Eddie served with the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War.
Eddie, his wife, and daughter moved to Danbury, CT in 2009.
He loved spending time with family, dancing salsa, and history. Eddie was a huge sports fanatic and loved the NY Mets. Although, he always said he was a fan of all the NY teams.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, survivors include his daughter, Lynette Ann Rivera.
Friends will be received from 1:00pm - 3:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
A Prayer Service with Military Honors will be conducted at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the funeral home.
