Edward was the beloved husband of Diane Coleman of 30 years and the devoted and loving father to Brian Coleman and Teresita Chargualaf. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Carol Montalbano and Christine Eckman as well as Mother-in-law, Mommie-o, four brother-in-laws, sister-in-law and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, friends and co-workers.
Dr. Coleman graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science and a GA in 1975 with a Masters of Science. He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry. Post-doctoral Fellowship at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York City. He was an accomplished scientist with Kraft Foods and Mondelez International where he reached the highest level of achievement at the organization, a Mondelez International Fellow. He served as a Research Principal for Technology and Innovation. Throughout his career, Ed was one of the most successful and accomplished patented scientist with over forty patents registered under his name – an amazing achievement. Ed served as a coach and mentor to the people who were fortunate to work alongside him and his kindness towards all was infectious.
Dr. Coleman was a graduate of Fordham University and active alumni, and the Fordham Rams biggest and most devoted fan. He was a fixture at the Rams football and basketball games and was well known along Author Avenue for his post-game celebrations with his loving family and friends.
Ed’s greatest legacy is his kind and gentle demeanor and the love he showered on his family and friends. He was a great man, wonderful and loving husband, doting and caring father, and beloved brother, and always put family and friends first.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at St. Edward Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
Friends will be received on from 4pm-8pm on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
