Barbara Jane Waterbury

Barbara was born in Danbury to Joseph and Susan Czajka on December 22, 1939. She attended school in Danbury and graduated from Danbury State College with a teaching degree and went on to work as a teacher and substitute teacher in Norwalk and Danbury. She married Richard Waterbury on December 16, 1961 in New York state.

In later years, Barbara worked as an office clerk for two local businesses. Barbara loved being outside in her gardens and enjoyed her many horses, dogs, cats, goats and chickens. She was a member of the King Street United Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with and helping her friends and neighbors.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard. Barbara leaves behind her daughter Patricia Moran and husband Bryan, her daughter Stacey Bielert and her husband Christopher, and her son Scott Waterbury and his wife April. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren, Reverend Jane Elizabeth Moran, Cade Moran, Alexandra Bielert, Cody Waterbury and Tyler Waterbury. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Monty.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, June 12th at the Congregational Church of Brookfield, 160 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield, CT with the Reverend Bryn Smallwood-Garcia officiating. Arrangements are by Green Funeral Home in Danbury.
