Barbara O’Donnell died on Sunday, April 22 in the presence of her loving family. Barbara was born in Danbury, Connecticut on September 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Judith Dikeman Durkin. She attended Danbury schools before starting her career as a bank teller. She met her future husband Joseph O’Donnell in nearby Bethel CT. They were happily married until his death in 1998.
Barbara enjoyed a full, rewarding life spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind woman of exceptional character who was caring and generous to everyone she met in life. Barbara had a successful long-term career at the Savings Bank of Danbury. She was well liked and respected by her colleagues. Barbara was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter’s church. After retirement she traveled and volunteered her time for the American Cancer Society and at St. Peter Church Rectory.
Barbara is survived by her three children: Joseph (Marcia) of Kent, Robert (Kellie) of New Milford, and Diane (Craig) of Maryland and her sister Marylou Staffieri of Danbury. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday April 26th at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Wednesday April 25th from 5 PM to 7 PM.
