Pauline “Polly” Johnson a longtime resident of Danbury passed away at her home on October 10, 2012. She was 92 years old. Pauline was born October 5, 1920 in Winkle, Illinois, the daughter of the late Everett and Eva (Stockdale) Douglas. She was a gradulate of Danbury High School class of 1938, served in the US Navy as a Wave during WWII, she was a dental assistant for many years, a homemaker and she was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury.
She is survived by her two sons James H. Johnson and his wife Susan and Robert D. Johnson, a daughter, Laura J. Katz and her husband David, all of Danbury. One sister Catherine McCarthy, five grandchildren James Johnson and his wife Courtney, Stephen Johnson and his wife Kathleen, Darrel and Danielle Jeffries and Catherine Lee, also survived by four great grandchildren, Georgia, Noah, Alexis and Nicole Johnson. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by a sister, Wilma Andersen.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 23, 2012, 11:00am at St. James Episcopal Church. The family would like donations to be made in her name to St. James Episcopal Church 25 West St. Danbury, CT 06810. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Funeral Home in Danbury.
