Yolanda Aguilar Vaquera, age 73, passed away on September 28, 2024 at her home in Arlington, Texas with her husband by her side. She was born on December 13, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to her parents Bonifacio and Maria de la Luz Aguilar. She attended N.R. Crozier Technical High School and graduated in 1968. She married her husband, Gregory (Greg) Vaquera in 1970 and the couple had 2 children, Jeanette and Isaac. She worked in the banking industry for more than 33 years and owned and managed the Corsicana Trophy Case business with her husband. She was a Bank Credit Analyst for New York Mellon Bank for more than 15 years until her retirement in 2016. After retirement, she was lucky enough to travel the world, which was always her dream.
In her spare time, she enjoyed decorating her home, going to movies, puzzles, reading, listening to all kinds of music, bird watching and taking long walks in the park with her husband.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a very private, serious and loving person. She was compassionate, thoughtful, punctual, organized and had a very strong sense of responsibility. She was great in finances and showed courage in standing up for her beliefs. She gave most of the credit to her husband for their fruitful marriage.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Bonifacio and Maria de la Luz Aguilar, five brothers (Gilbert, Frank, Augustine, Daniel and Arnold), three sisters (Maria A. Padilla, Elena A. Figueroa and Leonia A. Gonzales).
She is survived by her husband Greg of 54 years, daughter, Jeanette Vaquera McEnaney of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son, Isaac Gregory Vaquera of Midlothian, TX, daughter-in-law, Heather Hunt Vaquera of Midlothian, TX, five grandchildren (Gregory Isaac Vaquera of Midlothian, TX, Reece Gabrielle McEnaney of Chicago, IL, Regan Alicia McEnaney of Chicago, IL, Gabriel Alexander Vaquera of Midlothian, TX and Mitchell Kellen McEnaney of Boulder, CO). She is also survived by four sisters (Christina A. Kirchmeyer of Mesquite, TX, Eloise A. Espinoza of Lancaster, TX, Victoria A. La Pinska of Venice, FL and Herminia A. Puentes of Dallas, TX) and many nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest at the Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Her ashes will be located in the Priest Circle where she chose a very peaceful spot surrounded by beautiful trees.
