William "Bill" Werner, age 84, passed away on October 27, 2022 in Azle, Texas. He was born on May 17, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to William and Marjorie Werner. Bill was raised in Dallas, Texas and earned his Master's Degree in Music from the University of North Texas in 1971. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant for 8 years. Bill was passionate about education, and worked as a Choir Director at Bowie Junior High from 1965-1980; Music Teacher at Britain Elementary from 1981-1994; and as a School Counselor from 1995-1998.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed traveling within the United States and abroad. His faith was a constant in his life, and he loved to serve the Lord and his church where he was the song director for more than 60 years. He was also a proud founding member of the Irving Choral.
Bill's family and friends will always remember him as being the rock that they can to to weather the storm. While small in stature, he definitely commanded a large presence.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Marjorie Werner; his brother, Charles Werner; and sister, Marjorie "Sue" Lee.
Bill is survived by his nephew, Robert Lee of Irving; nephew, Ryan Lee and his wife Missy of Azle; their three children, Tori and husband Justin Teakell, Taylor and soon-to-husband Jacob Jaynes, and Toby Lee; and great-great-nephew, Jace Teakell.
