William (“Bill”) Walter Scott, 85, born July 10, 1926 in Gainesville, Texas, passed away in his home in Dallas, Texas on July 29, 2011. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bill is survived by wife of 59 years, Annette Scott, sons, William, wife Pat, Bradley, wife Brenda and Bryan. Grandchildren, Paige Olsen, husband Jacob, Brandon Scott, wife Eileen, Austin Scott, Hunter Scott, Great Grandchildren, Nathan Olsen, Lauren Olsen, brothers J.B. Scott, Travis Scott, and sister Martha Flanagan and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by mother Myrtle Scott and father Walter Scott, brothers, Leo and Raymond Scott, sisters Ruby Burkhart and Mildred Chapman.
Bill was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Army and the Air Force. After serving his country, Bill graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. Bill was employed with Collins Radio, LTV and General Dynamics, before starting his own real estate brokerage firm, Scott Realty.
Bill enjoyed public speaking in the Armed Forces and with Toastmasters early in his career. Most of all Bill enjoyed telling a good story from his childhood growing up on a farm. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, sons and grandsons at the family ranch.
Bill was an active member of the Waterview Church of Christ since 1963 and participated on the Benevolence Committee, as well as many other committees, serving the Waterview family and community.
