He is survived by the love of his life of almost 65 years, Frances; his children, Maryann Scudder; Bill Lambeth, Jr. & his wife Fran, Patty Reagan, Ellen Lambeth, Emily Lambeth & her life partner, Jackie Bien; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & many grand-dogs.
The family business, R.C. “Buddy” Lambeth Paint & Body Shop was opened in 1922 at 2708 Main Street in Dallas. Bill continued the family business of Lambeth Paint & Body until he retired in 1992. His family was among the founding members of St. Thomas Aquinas Church & he was an active member and past President of the Holy Name Society.
He was Scout Master of Troop 43 at St. Thomas for many years. Many scouts were guided by him on their journey to the rank of Eagle Scout and are survived by these scouts who still share stories of troop adventures. He and Frances were members of the International Order of Alhambra. He particularly enjoyed being the “Keeper of the Oasis” on the many trips. He was a life-time member of Knights of Columbus, Council 799 and ran the Lenten fish fries for many years. He took his secret recipes for cole slaw and the fish fry process with him. One of his favorite things to do at those fish fries was to fire his dear friend, Oliver, every week and continued to fire him every time he saw him until he passed.
Bill truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He found joy in everything he did, which included his infamous back flips and jack knives off the diving board at the original K.C. pool. He never turned down an invitation to do anything or to help anyone. He was the most spontaneous person you ever knew. His love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting & camping was part of his DNA. He always had a dance to his step along with a huge grin and was blessed with the virtue of patience. It was this gift, coupled with love, which made it possible for him to care for the love of his life for many years. You never heard a complaint from him. He had a wry sense of humor and great delivery of a good pun. He exemplified and taught life lessons of honor, work ethic, service, faith and the importance of family. He served as a rock, always a calm tower of strength for family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carlos Velasco for his many years of life extending care. The family would also like to thank Penny Abernathy for her dedication to Bill and the superior care she provided. He loved her dearly.
