William "Harrison" Hall

William "Harrison'' Hall, a proud Texan, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, was born July 5, 2000, in Plano, Texas, and passed away on May 1, 2023, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 22. He was a true Southern gentleman who touched the lives of all who knew him.

Harrison is preceded in death by: his maternal grandmother, Ann Richardson; his uncle, Dr. Steve Richardson; and most recently his beloved maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Richardson, who never missed a single one of Harrison’s games.

Harrison is survived by: his parents, Sera and William “Bill” Hall; his oldest sister, Heidi Hall; his older sister, Heather Hall and her fiancé, Alex Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Kathleen and William “Bill” Hall; his uncle, Dave Hall and cousins, Brandon and Corinne Hall; his aunt, Laura Dean-Richardson, and cousins, Amanda Richardson, and Mike and his wife, Natalie Richardson; his uncle, Stewart Richardson, aunt, Mindy Richardson, and cousins, Corry and Ian Richardson; and numerous friends.

Harrison attended Lamplighter, Preston Hollow Presbyterian, Lakehill Academy, and Highland Park High School, and was most recently a senior at Texas A&M. As a member of the Highland Park football team, he was a standout athlete and affectionately known as “Big Hall.” He helped lead his team to three consecutive state championships from 2016 to 2018. After graduating high school, Harrison continued his football career at Texas A&M, and played in the Texas Bowl in 2019.

Harrison believed in making a difference, both locally and nationally. He received his Eagle Scout rank with Troop 577 where he also received the Order of Arrow Innovation Award. With his troop, he completed the Philmont trek and was instrumental in saving a fellow scout's life during a dangerous situation atop the mountain. He embodied the Boy Scout Law which reads: “A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.”

He was an avid world traveler which sparked his love of history and his desire to make the world a better place. His commitment to serving others continued as he began his career in politics, interning for Congressman Pete Sessions in Washington D.C. for several summers. As Congressman Sessions said “Harrison lived his life as an exemplary young man who left a lasting impact on those around him,” and he couldn’t have been more right. He also served as a member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League as an Honor Guard. He truly represented all organizations with which he was affiliated with, with professionalism and excellence.

Harrison was an avid hunter who loved camping and spending time outdoors. He always spoke of how he felt closer to God in nature and how being out there brought him peace. He was also a skilled scuba diver. He took his scuba training seriously, achieving many diving certification levels. Harrison introduced his love of diving to many of his friends and was often instrumental in his friends receiving their dive certifications.

He was a gifted chef and loved to cook and experiment in the kitchen. He loved taking on the responsibility of preparing the family’s Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners! His Beef Wellingtons and smoked Prime Ribs were a favorite among friends and family. You could always catch him in the kitchen listening to Sinatra while making homemade pasta sauce.

Harrison truly did not want to leave this earth, but he just did not know how to stay. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A funeral service will be held in Harrison's honor at Christ the King Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas on May 9th, 2023, at 11:00 am, with interment to follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park.
