Our beloved father and grandfather will be remembered for his kind, giving and compassionate Christian heart. He treasured family and helping others, always quick to volunteer for a charitable cause. He was a long time Plano resident and native Dallasite.
Bill attended Woodrow Wilson High School where he met the love of his life Joan. He attended Texas A&M University where he was member of the Corp of Cadets. He was also a veteran of the Korean War. He was an elite sales professional for a young start up company in Kansas City, Marion Laboratories (now Aventis/Glaxo-Smith-Kline) where he set the standard over and over. He retired early at age 55 and then started a second successful career in the sign and graphics business.
Bill was involved in community service organizations; Plano West Rotary and the Plano Shrine Club where he was a founder and past president. He was an avid golfer, card player and world traveler.He was a faithful and active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church where he ushered and enjoyed attending Don Corbell's bible study group. He is survived by son Mike ,grand daughter Hailey ,son Bill III and his fiancé' Amanda and by numerous nieces,nephews and cousins.He was proceeded in death by his wife Joan and his daughter Gina.
Dad overcame many adversities with determination and a kindred spirit. He was our "dragon slayer". He conquered and led with loving actions and kind words. He will be greatly missed by many but will never be forgotten.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Thursday July 28th at 4pm at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. There will be a reception following the service in the funeral home events room. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Hella Shrine, % the Plano Shrine Club, 2121 Rowlett Road, Garland, TX 75043.
