William Edward Chrisman, Jr. was born on September 21, 1934, in Dallas, Texas, to William Edward Chrisman and Lenora Maxine Barnett. William attended grade school in Dallas, Texas, and later moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school in 1952. He attended University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
He went on to have a successful engineering career. He was employed for many years in the defense industry by Texas Instruments. He later formed his own engineering company, where he designed and manufactured advanced monitoring equipment for the oil industry. He was a private pilot. He enjoyed piloting, fishing, boating and spending time with his family.
As a son, husband, father, grandfather, friend and employer, William was loyal, diligent, devoted, honest and dependable. Friends and family knew him as Bill, while to his children and grandchildren he was Dee. Although many beloved family members and friends have gone before him, he will be remembered and sorely missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are wife of 64 years, Marilyn Chrisman; three children: Carol Chrisman Weston (Ray), William Edward Chrisman, III (Tonya), and Catherine Chrisman Thompson (William); four grandchildren: Anne Weston, Dean Weston, William Chrisman, IV and Melanie Thompson; and three step-granddaughters.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, Irving, Texas, where he was a member. Interment and reception at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park will follow the service.
