William Harvey Brown

William “Bill” H. Brown passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023 at CC Young Senior Living, Dallas, Texas. Bill was born on September 26, 1942 to Jo and Harry Brown. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Lads and Lassies Choir. Bill attended SMU where he received a BS degree in 1964. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Bill did post graduate work at SMU and the University of Tennessee.

Bill started working at SMU in 1968 in the office of the Undergraduate Admissions. In 1988, he moved to Purchasing and Business Services. He was employed at SMU for 43 years when he retired in 2011. Following his retirement, Bill spent several years as a host of Campisi’s restaurant on Mockingbird.

Bill loved sports! He was a baseball umpire beginning with little league progressing through high school and amateur baseball leagues. Bill managed an amateur baseball team for many years. He was a big fan of Highland Park sports and was voted Fan of the Year in baseball and basketball. Bill was an avid SMU Mustang!

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Ann Beasley (Arch), nephews Trey Beasley (Vanessa) and Allen Beasley (Libby) and grandnephews Adam, Charlie, Jack and Will.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Point Auditorium at CC Young Senior Living, 4847 W. Lawther Dr., Dallas, Texas 75214.
