Wayne Estes Lindsey, Jr., age 81 of Rockwall, TX, was born on June 30, 1938, and went to be with the Lord on May 08, 2020. Wayne was the firstborn of Wayne Sr and Cora Lee (Dockins) Lindsey; eldest of twelve children: Waynette, Josephine, Dale, Jewell, Sharon, Rusty, Mike, Janoice, Ingrid, Bonnie and Rocky.
Wayne grew up in the Dallas metroplex. He attended Highland Park High School where he played football (tight end) and ran track. Before the end of his senior year, Wayne went to work for his father learning the family business, Lindsey Demolition. He invested his time and talent into making the business grow. Although he worked long hours and partial weekends, Wayne studied to become a Mason (like his father).
He was such a sports enthusiast that he did some boxing in his early 20’s, and was always a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan. Demolition and sports were Wayne’s passion throughout his lifetime. He and his father changed the Dallas skyline, preparing the sites of land marks such as: Reunion Tower, Reunion Arena, Union Station and countless others. After the passing of Wayne Sr., Wayne Jr. started his own business: Lindsey Excavation. He worked tirelessly on numerous projects for the City of Dallas and University Park.
The love of Wayne’s life, Elizabeth Weaver, married him on January 18, 1963. The couple was lovingly married for 57 years and had four children: Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Danny Lindsey of Rowlett and is survived by his daughter, Debbie Robinson of Frisco, TX; son, Wayne Estes Lindsey, III of Rockwall, TX; son, Michael Wayne Lindsey of Lake Highlands; and twelve grandchildren: Gage, Cayden, Madison, Morgan, Megan, Kayla, Wayne IV, Will, Macey, Rachel, Natalie and Jack.
