Warren Roger Stewart of Bedford, TX, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the age of 88. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, friend to many, and a devoted Christian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Stewart; his sisters, Alta Stewart and Geneva Walker; and his brother, Victor Stewart.
Warren is survived by his children: Lori Graef (Mark) and Vicki Adams (John); his step-children: Darlene Baldwin (Morris), Rebecca Turner, and Ben Baker; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Warren was born to Fern and Willard Stewart on September 4, 1935. Growing up in Greenbush, Michigan on the picturesque shores of Lake Huron, Warren enjoyed swimming, fishing, and hunting small game. As a teenager, he often worked alongside his father transporting felled timber logs.
Showing an early interest in music and having a natural talent on the trumpet, Warren followed this passion throughout his life. His most proud accomplishments were being a trumpeter in the US Navy Band and the Fort Worth Symphony where he performed for 15 years.
While raising a family, Warren also pursued a career in computer programming. He had a sharp mind and was often recruited for his programming skills. He enjoyed a long tenure with Southwest Airlines as a programmer/analyst and retired at age 72.
Warren will be loved and remembered as being a kind-hearted, faithful, and humble man who was cheerful and loved a joke with a good punchline. He loved God, had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and lived out His example. He was a dedicated bible reader and loved sharing the Word with others. He was philanthropic with many charities, and volunteered his musical talent for his community, military funerals, and for his church family.
“Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping. We have you in our heart”
