Wanda Orrill Stockdale, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2010 in Dallas. She was born to Frank Albert and Evie Mae Orrill on June 11, 1930 in San Antonio, TX. In 1947, she graduated from Forest Ave. High School in Dallas. She received her BA in Interior Design from North Texas State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and her master’s degree in Education from Southern Methodist University. Wanda taught for 22 years at Dan D. Roger Elementary School in DISD. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gene Stockdale and children, Debbie and Terry Springer, Barry and Laura Stockdale and Annette Bateman, all of Dallas; and Cindy and Dane White of Mufreesboro, TN; 6 grandchildren and a sister, Colleen Hyams, of Palo Alto, CA. Family visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27th and graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 28th, both at Sparkman Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Baylor Health Care Foundation, 3600 Gaston Ave., Barnett Tower, Ste. 100, Dallas, 75246.
