Nelle Bulin passed away on January 25, 2020, at her home. She was born on October 27, 1927, in Donie, Texas - the youngest of ten children. She married Gaylon Bulin on January 26, 1947, and made their home in Dallas, raising two sons.
Nelle and Gaylon were an exceptionally close couple, and were married for over 55 years. Throughout their lives they enjoyed fellowship with a special group of friends who shared their values and interests.
Prior to her retirement, Nelle worked as a bookkeeper, but her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother were her true passion. No one could claim to be a better cook or housekeeper, but she often said that she did not care for domestic pursuits – for she preferred to be doing things outside. She enjoyed water skiing - even attempting to ski backwards.
Nelle loved the Lord. She served Him throughout her life - singing in the choir, cooking and assisting at church ministry events, and working alongside her husband to refurbish Christian camps around the state with Campers on Mission. She loved her pastor and her many friends from Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, and her neighbors at the lake.
Nelle was preceded in death by her husband Gaylon, and by her parents, Jesse Willard and Eliza Ellis. Survivors include her sons and their wives: Don and Rachel Bulin of Santee, California, and Chip and Karen Bulin of Rowlett, Texas; grandsons Ryan, Don, and John; great-grandsons Brennan and Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas, with Dr. Ron Klingsick officiating. Interment will follow in the Laurel Land Cemetery.
