Verna Mae Wells Adams born June 4, 1927 and died June 13, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Billy Joe Adams; her daughter, Annette Sue Adams; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter Janette Adams Sutton; son-in-law Jim Sutton; grandson, Chris Sutton and his wife, Amy Sutton, granddaughter Cathryn McNally and her husband, David McNally; great grandchildren, Allison Victoria, Adelynne Isabella, and Aniston Eveleigh Sutton; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adams retired from Army Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) after many years as a computer programmer and systems analyst. She was a lifelong active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Cliff and served actively in many areas for over 40 years. After retirement, she served actively with the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 16, 2017, Laurel Land Memorial Chapel with interment at the DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be preceeding the service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
