Tom was preceded in death by his parents John and Fannie Farrell (Rochester, NY), sister Barbara Poore (Rochester, NY), wife Jacqueline Farrell (1968-1996) and second wife Regina “Dolly” (O’Connell) Farrell (1999-2015).
Survived by his children Caroline Stephen (Peachtree Corners, GA) and Jonathan Farrell (Los Angeles, CA), grandchildren Madeline Stephen, Sarah Stephen, E. Henry Stephen III and wife Jane (Schumann) Farrell, Tom loved his family more than anything.
Second to family, Tom was an accomplished career-man holding the position of Executive Vice President of Generational Equity (Dallas, TX) and honored with the 2016 M&A Advisor Lifetime Achievement Award. He previously held long-time positions at Smith Barney / Citigroup and Eastman Kodak Company. Tom graduated with a B.S. degree cum laude from Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology.
Tom was an amazing person with a hilarious sense of humor that could brighten anyone's day. A lover of music, cars and sports, Tom lived his 70-years to the fullest indulging in these and many other passions as often as he could. From one of his early adventures at Woodstock Festival in 1969 to attending Formula 1 British Grand Prix to running down the sidelines at his grandchildren’s soccer games, Tom approached everything in life with gusto. Found amongst his keepsakes were a pair of Texas Rangers World Series ticket stubs and a program from his granddaughter’s high school championship soccer game. They were equally important to him.
Tom’s mission statement was, "Live for today, have fun and be happy, while planning for tomorrow,” and boy did he live by it.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church (8017 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75225; Tel. 214-365-1200).
In lieu of flowers, please celebrate Tom with a donation to another one of his passions, Wounded Warrior Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ .
