I'm Tom's daughter in law Nicole/Trey's wife. I had knew Tom for 22 years. He was a great dad in law to have. Trey and started dating at the age of 19 and 17. He made me feel welcome from the first day we met. Through the years he and Cheryl always made the effort to follow our kids to every school or athletic event. Tom was always there to encourage us to hold on to what mattered which was family. Funny story is that our youngest son had a skull deformity at birth. When Ryan had to have his skull operated on for the second time at 10 months old, Tom asked me if he could come along for the plastic surgeon visit before the surgery. I happily agreed,he was curious as to what would happen to his youngest grandson.  When the doctor came in to exam Ryan he took one look at Tom and announced that Tom is where the issue came from just by looking at Tom's head!  I felt sorry for Tom but he was good and took it in stride. We all loved Tom so much and now are still kind of lost.  I seriously don't know how I will handle the weather. He always called and asked if we were getting any weather in Argyle, which is 30 minutes north of his house.  In fact the last phone message I received at the house was about the weather. Please accept my deepest condolences.  It is hard to believe you and Tom were married for 43 years – a real success story there – and your wonderful family is proof of that.  But losing your partner of so many years is the most difficult thing in life and I pray you find comfort in your memories and in those great kids and grandkids.  The few conversations I had with Tom were very interesting – our interests were similar in many ways so we could have talked forever.  And you, of course, are just a part of all I hold sacred – since the very first day of school to the very last.  I love you girl.  Just know I'm thinking about you.  Lackey

What kind of man was Tom Anderson?  He was a patient man, kind, good hearted, soft spoken, courteous to others, slow to anger, and very well spoken.  He was a people person.  He was always very helpful to people in need and eager to jump in and help.  If it had not been for Tom Anderson calling me at 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning, I would have never worked over 340 countries for my DXCC (that is a ham radio certificate for working all the countries in the world).  I would break the pile-up for Tom so he could give his call out and make a Contact.  I had an Alpha amplifier that put out 1500 watts.  I would put out his call sign WW5L and the DX station on the other end would come back to Tom on the first call.  We would make our contact and give our report and then would go to bed.  A least, I went to bed.  Sue would say who is that on the phone this time of night.  I would answer, Tom!!!   She would say, “Not again!!!   I have to go to work in the morning, Bob!!  Tell him to stop calling at this time night.”  And, of course, I wouldn't because we needed those rare countries!!!.  That was the good ole days. Hi!  
 Tom was a good listener.  I always had something to talk about.  He would just sit there listen to me raddle along.  He was a very low-maintenance friend.  One you would like to be around.  Easy!!!  I have never heard him say anything bad about anybody.  We were different in that area.  I always had an opinion.    We did talk about grandchildren and how they were doing in school and stuff.  He was a good husband, a good father, a good grandfather, a good brother and A GOOD SON.  
One of my favorite memories is getting to go with Tom to the “Anderson Open” golf tournament looked forward to that all year.   I could hardly wait till May to play golf at Northwood Country Club with the Anderson's.  Tom's father had such a nice group of friends from east Texas.  All of them made me feel at home and so wonderful being there playing golf with them.   Tom and I were the sorriest buggers out on the golf course at the tournament, but we had more fun than you could shack a stick at.  We thought we were big guns on the golf course.  I surely miss those days.
I have been honored to be Tom's friend for over 28 years and him mine and he will be sorely missed.  And he will be missed by many!

Tom was my Best Friend.  We met around our Junior year in high school and our friendship continued for the next 50 years. We were Folk music fans, and went to and met the Kingston Trio, and Peter, Paul and Mary at their concerts. We had a fun time in high school, Booster Club, Football and Basketball games. Tom was a giver.  He liked to help people. He gave with a heart. Above all, Tom was a gentleman, like his father. In our friendship, he was always there in time of need. What a wonderful friendship.  Cheryl  made the comment one time "He is my Hero".  Tom, you are my "Hero" too.

The Begali's Family from Italy is very close to Cheryl and her family! We are very sad not to be able to be there with you all. Tom R.I.P. , you will stay always in our hearts! Thanks for everything you did for us!

Tom was a really interesting person.  He generally had to be coaxed into telling his own point of view on most issues, a holdover characteristic no doubt from his reporter days and I did enjoy every conversation I ever had with Tom.  He was a truly nice guy.

Tom was a great man who I had the pleasure of working with when he joined the Colleyville Citizens Fire Academy and Rehab Team. He was dedicated to the group and always willing to lend a hand. He even got the firefighters top notch jerseys for the police vs fire softball game. A true friend of the CFD who will be greatly missed. May God bless and keep your family my dear friend. Until we meet again. God speed.

Tom was a grand and jovial fellow, liked be everyone. I met Tom through Amateur Radio and enjoyed visiting with him at the annual Ham Com convention in Plano.
