Born on June 1, 1938 and raised in the historic Little Mexico area of Dallas. Teresa Lopez passed away on June 16, 2022. Affectionately known as “Tita”, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Santos and siblings Santos Veloz and Irma Adams Salin, and is lovingly survived by her husband of 65 years, Erminio “Amos” Lopez, her three sons, Lupe Lopez, Richard Lopez and his wife, Susan Lopez, all from Mesquite, and Robert Lopez, of Houston. She is also survived by her brothers – Chalie, Hector “Payo”, Toby, Stan and Ron.
Tita is also survived by the following: nine grandchildren – Christy, Marcos, Teresa, Corey, Kacey, Noah, Alec, Aaron and Aric; thirteen great-grandchildren – Taylor, Robert, Carlos, Audrey, Adrian, Carissa, Nathaniel, Alyza, Layla, Abby, Lincoln, Everlie and Hazel, and three great-great grandchildren – Arianna, Avarose and Jason.
A force unto her own, Tita’s personality loomed large whether on the sidelines of her children's and grandchildren’s sporting events or at the numerous family gatherings. Known as the life of the party, Tita will be greatly missed by all her family and friends whose lives she touched along the way.
A celebration of her life will occur on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
The family will receive extended family members and friends on Friday, June 24th from 4-8 PM with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Saturday, June 25th at 10 AM in the North Chapel of Calvary Hill with a graveside burial to follow. Honorary pallbearers will be her six grandsons.
