Stuart G. Johnston, Jr. , 87, of Dallas, Texas, died December 31, 2017, at his residence in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 8, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas, and lived there as a child. His parents were Stuart G. Johnston and Olive Marie Fleck. He graduated No. 1 in his elementary school class, his high school class, and his law school class. He made the second highest grade on the 1956 summer bar exam. He served in the United States Navy from February 1951 until November 1954. He graduated with highest honors from St. Mary’s University Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1956. He practiced law in San Antonio, Texas, Midland, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Dallas, Texas. He was an excellent general practitioner, specializing in real estate, oil and gas, corporate, general business, and securities law. He loved his wife and family and was an avid baseball fan – his favorite team was the New York Yankees. He and his wife, Beverly, had seven boys and no girls, all of whom survived him. He left 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass celebration was held on January 5, 2018, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. An inurnment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum on Northwest Highway in Dallas, Texas.
