Ruby Louise Bennett

Sharp until her last days, she enjoyed reading her Bible, the newspaper, and the cards and letters she received from all over. Married to Coy Bennett on June 1, 1958, they were blessed to enjoy over 60 years together. They both loved to host for the holidays - any holiday – and share their home, food, and good times.

Born in Dallas, she graduated at age 16 from Sulphur Springs High School as an academic scholar. Relocating to Dallas, she joined Forney Avenue Baptist Church where she was baptized at age 18. She began her career at Hydrotex around the same time and was employed there until her retirement.

She and Coy both loved the Lord and were faithful members at Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas, where they taught Sunday School and led the bowling team to many championships. She made so many friends along the way, both at her job and church, and kept in touch throughout the years.

Ruby had a zest for life, talking, sharing stories, and sports - cheering on all the Dallas teams including her beloved SMU Ponies. She also allowed room to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs and other family favorites. In fact, she made room in her life for all of her nieces and nephews and lots of them, being one of five siblings. The only thing she enjoyed more were the four-legged, fur-covered members of her friends and family. Always a kind word and biscuit for them.

Preceded in death by her husband, brother, and two sisters, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Harold Kuehn. Additional family members include nieces and nephews, Nancy Albright, Charles Johnson, Shannon Culley (and husband Chris Culley), Holly Bruneau (and husband Jeff Bruneau), and great-nephews Chris Johnson, Trey Albright (and wife Alina Albright), and Christopher Culley.

There are not enough words to describe her love for her family and their love for her.
