Rosalie Mooring of Lancaster, Texas, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on April 20, 1945, to William E. and Maybelle Brotherton. Rosalie was a loving wife to Johnny R. Mooring, Sr. and a devoted mother to her two sons, Johnny, Jr. and Joey.
Rosalie had a small house and office cleaning business, but her top priority was to serve as the matriarch of the Mooring household where among many things, she took great joy and pride in mothering her two sons. She always encouraged them to be kind, serve the Lord wholeheartedly, and help those in need.
She had a flair for decorating and loved hosting gatherings and celebrations and helping coordinate and organize weddings, wedding showers, and baby showers. Her colorful personality shone through on every occasion she organized.
Rosalie was known for her contagious laugh and her ability to tell stories that made listeners feel as if they were part of the stories she told. She went out of her way to add a special touch to any celebration or get-together. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed involving her grandchildren in all the creative ways she could make an event fun, memorable, and moments to be cherished forever.
Rosalie was a prayer warrior with a deep knowledge of the word of God. Her servanthood spirit ministered to many throughout her life. Rosalie was always willing to listen, offer advice, and pray for anyone who needed it. She was a faithful member of many churches. She left a legacy of being actively involved in serving her Savior in various capacities throughout her life. Examples of this include leading numerous Sunday school and Missionettes classes for all ages, organizing and leading children’s Vacation Bible School programs, serving as a sponsor and counselor for different youth ministries, serving as the leader of women's ministry groups, including the Heart and Home Ministries, and mentoring many young women in their walk with Christ. Despite her struggle with Alzheimer's, Rosalie never forgot the name of Jesus - often calling out the name of her Lord and Savior.
Rosalie is survived by her beloved husband, Johnny Mooring, Sr.; son, Johnny Mooring, Jr., and wife Arlene; son, Joey Mooring, and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Ashley Longmire and husband Grant, Raquel Mooring Peña and husband Fabian, and Noah Mooring; great-grandchildren, Grey and Maren Longmire; sister, Sharon Gibson, and husband Bobby; nephew, Nicholas Gibson, and wife Kristina, as well as great-nephew and niece, Colby and Ellie Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Maybelle Brotherton, Aunts Ouida and Ruth Holmes, Estelle Robinson, Uncle Jack Holmes and wife Anne, Cousin Jerry Holmes, and wife Kathy.
Services to celebrate Rosalie's life will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home located at 6300 R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. The Viewing will be held on Monday, July 24,. 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor Rosalie's memory during these services.

Rosalie Mooring will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warm personality, beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith will forever be remembered.
