Rosa Castillo

Rosa Castillo, age 84, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on June 21, 1938 in Cheneyville, LA to the late Antonio and Valentina Ramirez. She was raised in Louisiana and later met the love of her life Joe Dave Castillo while working at Rubenstein Company in 1956. Joe and Rosa fell in love and married in 1958 and the couple had three children. Together they had a blended family of five. She was a seamstress at Custom Chenille where she worked for many years.

In her spare time, Rosa enjoyed sewing, working on puzzles, making clothes for her grandkids, and shopping. She also loved to travel and care for her beloved pets. Her family and friends will remember her as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a loyal friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Valentina Ramirez; son Armando Castillo; sister Maria Thompson; brother Daniel Ramirez; granddaughters Olga Knotts and Gina Castillo. Rosa is survived by her loving husband Joe Dave Castillo; her children Rosa "Rosemary" Martinez, Ruben Castillo, Ruth Gillespie, and Ricardo Castillo; 21 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and 14 grandchildren; five sisters; three brothers and numerous nephews and nieces.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory, 3050 N. Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75247. A prayer service will occur Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 3050 N. Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75247. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 3050 N. Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75247. A graveside service will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.

Rosa will be laid to rest in Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220-3338; SECTION M-1; Lot: 102, Grave: 2.
