Roberta “Bobbi” Goodman (born Roberta Ann Isenberg) was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 9, 1945, to Harry and Florence Isenberg. Harry was a pharmacist, Florence was a housekeeper. The family, including Bobbi’s older sister Barbara "Sue", moved to Phoenix, Arizona, when Bobbi was starting high school. Bobbi attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where she obtained a Bachelors and Masters in Music. She settled down in Glendale, California, until moving to Carrollton, Texas, in 1982.
Piano teaching and performing was her love and career. She began teaching in 1965 as a graduate student. Throughout her long career, she became nationally known as a “Teacher of Teachers” and toured nationally giving recital-demonstrations around the country to music teacher associations. For nearly 50 years she maintained a studio of about 30 students, who gave student recitals at least twice annually. Many went on to their own careers in music. During her stay in Glendale, California, she formed the duo-piano team of Isenberg and Sepe, who performed in the Southern, California, area for many years.
Bobbi is survived by her sister, Sue; husband, Joel; daughter, Rachel; and grandchildren, Violet and Ezra.
A service for Bobbi will begin at 11am on Sunday, October 9, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
