Judy - I am so , so sorry for your loss.  During visits with you and Bob, it was clear to see what an outstanding and impressive guy he was.   You and your family will be in Phyllis' and my prayers.  God bless, Judy. 

I remember discussing Nortel on a call with Motorola Computer Group circa 2001.  The Ottawa MCG team referred to the larger-than-life New Yorker on the call as “The Senator”.  When Bob came over to lead the Wind River Nortel Account team, I got to appreciate how bang-on his nickname was: Charisma; Wisdom; Focus; Leadership and the ability to network & foster relationships.  In fact, I believe the latter was Bob’s 6th sense.

Personally Bob was a kind hearted man who always talked about his family –  a confident & very funny guy who everyone respected and loved.    I remember dad calling me up in tears laughing about a story Bob told him where, as an airport valet kid, Bob split the valet fees with the cops in exchange for letting him park cars outside the parking lots (to avoid the parking fees) and Bob being less than star-struck in his pursuit to meet Rock Hudson at the gate.  Dad was an introvert.  I had no idea that my parents began socializing with Bob & Judy after meeting them at one of my barbeques.

Professionally, Bob’s relationship acumen was his super-power, enabling him to unlock doors to Leadership meetings and strategic opportunities and keep these doors open.  Meeting flashback.  The room is tense.  The exec is looking at his watch.   This could be our only shot.  After years of Sales Training what does Bob do?  He opens the meeting with one of his 2-minute “Fish Stories”.  What else?

By the time Bob retired, I had the pleasure of working with him for about 8-years on the Nortel Account team and later, about 2-years on the Moon Island Team.  Though my Bob golf memories are limited to Chateau Montebello and Cedar Hill Golf Club, I have many other fond memories of fun times with Bob and too many funny stories that I will not repeat.   My thoughts and prayers to Judy and family.

Bob, I never had the chance to tell you that you trying to sound like a Canadian was no worse than you trying to sound like a Texan.  So long Bob, you will be greatly missed.

I worked with Bob for many years at Wind River.  It was always a pleasure working with him.  One thing that set him apart from many was his genuine kindness.  He was always kind, always happy to share a story or just to chat.   I used to call him Papa Shaw when I saw him, as he just had that type of presence about him.   The attached photo is from one of our Sales Rally's (I don't recall the year).  In the photo are Lauren Hartley, Myself, Bob and Bernadette Sramek.   

Based on the photo montage, you can tell he loved his family and loved life.  I am very sorry for your loss of such a kind and wonderful man.  RIP Papa Shaw. You are missed. 

Love the family pictures that were shared.  Bob coming down the water slide summarizes him well and brought a smile to my face.  I worked with Bob on a few deals at Wind River, including Cisco and a trip to Texas.  Bob was a caring and happy person, who always tried to find the middle ground in a deal and in life.  Balanced is a good way to describe him.  He will be missed.

Bob was a very special guy. I got to know Bob back when we both worked for Motorola Computer Group where we had such a great run building a successful business. Bob managed the largest account for our business which was Nortel which ultimately would take him to Ottawa so he could work more closely with them. His relationship management skills were exceptional. His smile and charm were magnetic. His sense of humor made him a bright spot of every encounter. He was one of the best! I'm proud that I had the opportunity to know him, work with him and be his friend!

In 2014, I worked in Bob's team when I were in Taiwan. I always admire his energy, humor, business experience and life wisdom. He offers me a lot of inspiration and good memories. He truly leaves a great mark in my heart. I see  him as a respectable leader and elder. Hope  Bob,  rests in peace.

I worked with Bob for a number of years in the 1990's at Motorola. We were both account executives with different customers and had a friendly rivalry going. Bob usually won but we had a great time working together. So sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences and prayers go out to the whole family.

I met Bob when he was at Motorola in a work context and we quickly became friends.   Bob made that easy.  I was thrilled to get the chance to work together at Wind River where he did amazing things.  He introduced me to Judy and some of his children.  What a wonderful family!   In the summer of 19 we finally got to Fenway where he rooted for his beloved Astro’s then spent some time at the Cape.  We never made it out fishing as I wanted to see him catch another Ocean Sunfish (great Motorola sales story there)!  He was a great friend, mentor and colleague.  I will miss our chats greatly.   Rest In Peace Bob.  

I’ve known Bob since around 1980, when Steve and I met in elementary school.   Growing up, I lived just one street over from the Shaw’s in Northwest Hills (Austin) and had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the Shaw’s.  They were always so inviting and welcoming.  Bob, in particular, was so funny – he had such a great sense of humor and ALWAYS had a joke to tell.

Years later, when Bob & Judy moved to Canada for a few years, they let Steve and I live in their Plano home – once again, so welcoming and generous.  I will never forget that.

Bob was always interested in how the old NW Hills guys were doing – what we were up to, where we were working and how our families were doing.

The last time I saw Bob was in College Station - which must have been one of his favorite places.  From kids and grandkids, there were so many alums in the Shaw family, but he also introduced me to A&M.  Back in the 80’s, he took us to Aggie football games as kids (and ultimately I ended up at A&M as well).

Bob was truly respected.  Full of life and kindness.  I have such great memories of a great man.

I had the privilege to get to know Bob on our many golf trips to Myrtle Beach. 

It was always great to get into a conversation with him either on the course or after golf.

He was a genuinely good man and his company was always a pleasure. He will be truly missed.

Bob had a genuine interest in the life story of the people he met. I had the privilege to work closely with him for many years, including countless business trips and customer visits. 
Regardless of the circumstances, he  was always prepared and never failed to impress with his impeccable demeanour, disarming humour and ability to focus on what mattered. 
Bob was an amazing person and I am forever grateful for the wonderful memories and friendship. 
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Shaw family. 
Rest In Peace Bob, we will miss you.

I met Bob in Myrtle Beach on one 
of our many golf trips.  We had an instant connection as we are both Dallas Cowboy Fans!  Bob was a true gentleman.   RIP my friend.  You were will be missed!❤

I will always remember Bob as someone who was challenged at counting golf strokes (LOL) but could be counted on to be a fun, sincere, kind, and engaging guy. He added a great deal to the comradery of our golf vacations over many years and will be dearly missed.  

I met Bob over 10 +years ago in Myrtle Beach as Mike invited him to join our Myrtle golf trip . Bob fit right in and we hit it off right away and became good friends. The first couple of nights talking with Bob I find out he new my brother-in-law and sister and actually went to there cottage in Quebec like 25-30 years ago . A guy from Dallas who I just met wow small world they say.Bobby I am going to truly miss sharing a glass of red on the balcony with you watching the ocean and telling stories . RIP Bobby

Bob was a wonderful friend and work associate and I enjoyed a lots of laughs and treasure the great memories of him over the last 15 plus  years.
We had many years of golf trips to Myrtle beach and Orlando . 
He will be missed by Irene and I and all his ottawa golf buddies.
A special man Bob was and  our thoughts go out to all the Shaw family who lost a great husband, father, grandfather and brother.
