At an early age, Robert accepted Christ in his life. He exhibited a fervent dedication to bodybuilding and maintained an unwavering commitment to his health and well-being, nurturing mind, body, and soul.
Robert pursued his education within the Dallas Independent School District before embarking on a distinguished career spanning over three decades at Texas Instruments.
Upon retiring from Texas Instruments, he relocated to East Texas, settling in Sulphur Springs, where he found solace in the tranquility of a small-town community. He found joy in attending car shows, exploring farmers markets, and having heartfelt conversations with cherished neighbors and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie Needum, father, Robert Needum Jr., mother, Geraldine Needum, and brother, Willie Needum.
Robert's legacy lives on through his son, Roderick Needum. As the second among eight siblings, he also leaves to embrace his memory, four brothers: Nathaniel Needum (Vonita), Bobby Needum, Joe Needum (Brenda), and Samuel Needum (Annette), as well as two sisters: Mary Fleming and Doris Franklin (Bernard).
His memory will remain a treasure not only with his immediate family, but also within the heart of a cherished friend, Ernestine Jackson; a wide host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and a circle of friends, all of whom were profoundly touched by his presence and kindness.
In commemorating Robert's life, we honor his enduring spirit, his dedication to health, and the warmth he brought to every interaction. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
