Richard Alan Toynbee

RICHARD ALAN “DICK” TOYNBEE, 90, of Richardson, our cherished father, husband, grandfather and friend passed away October 11, 2021. Dick was born on October 4, 1931 in Tampa, Florida and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He served in the US Air Force for three years during the Korean War. Dick was an engineer and spent a majority of his career at Rockwell International. He is survived by Jerre, his wife of 16 years; his three children, Rae Lynn and husband Larry Fontana, Rick Toynbee and his wife Tammie, Rhonda and her husband Brian Price; his seven grandchildren, Rob and his wife Alexa, Brad and his wife Stephanie, Leah, Jessica, Katie, Emily and Taylee; his two great grandchildren Mia and Ella; and many loving step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Rita Ann Toynbee in 2003. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 17th from 5:30-7:30 pm at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18th at 12:30 pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano. Dick will be remembered especially for his love and dedication to his family, and he will live in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick’s name to Network of Community Ministries in Richardson where he volunteered.
