Richard (Dick) Lewis died peacefully December 31, 2015 surrounded by his family in Dallas, Texas. Dick was born September 2, 1938 in New York City, NY to Richard and Elizabeth Lewis. Dick is survived by his wife, Mary, three loving daughters Ellen Van Meir, Claire Lewis and Katherine Rossnagel, five beloved granddaughters Audrey, Madison, Cara, Lucy and Sophie, his sister Teresa Smyth, and two sons-in-law Timothy Van Meir and Eric Rossnagel. Dick grew up in the Bronx, NY in a close knit, loving family. Dick attended Iona College and St. John’s Law School. He was a member of the National Guard. Dick had a successful career, including over twenty years as a partner and owner of Mangelsdorf, Lewis and Davidson, a structured settlement brokerage firm. Dick was a longstanding member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and was a past president and board member of NSSTA. Dick Lewis’ faith was very important to him throughout his life. Dick was an active member of the Serra Club of Dallas and a lector and Eucharistic minister at All Saints Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband and father, a friend to many, and will be dearly, dearly missed. A memorial Mass will be at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas, TX 75248 on Friday, January 8 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
