Ricardo Flores Herrera

Ricardo F. Herrera, age 77, of Dallas,Texas passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born September 1, 1945 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to Pedro Herrera and Consuelo Herrera. Ricardo was raised in Nueva Rosita and Piedras Negras, Coahuila and married Rosa Irene Muniz on April 11, 1971 and the couple had three children. He was a landscaper for the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation and TXU, where he worked for more than 25 years.

Ricardo enjoyed being an active member in his church, serving as a deacon at Church of Christ on Empire Central for over 30 years. His family and friends will always remember him as a follower of Christ, accepting everyone to the family no matter the circumstances, thinking and helping everyone, even to his final days. He also enjoyed family gatherings small or big and with no need for a special occasion. He just wanted family to be united and enjoy each others company. In those gathering, you could count on talking about his favorite sport, baseball.

Ricardo is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Consuelo Herrera; brothers, Rolando, Rogelio, Arturo and Antonio Herrera and daughter, Sara Barajas. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosa Irene Herrera; sons, Isai and Sergio Herrera; daughter-in-laws, Mary and Teresa Herrera; granddaughters, Rosa Maria Herrera, Sarah Sierra, Emily Herrera, RoseMarie Barajas, Karina Vasquez; grandsons, Ricardo and Erik Vasquez and one great-grandson, Ricardo J. Vasquez. He is also survived by his brothers Mario, Feliciano, Pedro Herrera and his sister Rosalba Martinez.

A visitation for Ricardo will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A committal service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
