Age 87, of Dallas, Texas. He was born in Bishop, Texas on June 6, 1924 and went into God's care Dec. 30, 2011. Migrated to Dallas, in 1955 and began working at Brook Hollow Country Club as a dishwasher. In 1956, he began his own business despite only having a sixth grade education, Quintanilla Sales Co. selling dry goods door to door. The business evolved to what is now known as Quintanilla Furniture Co. He is survived by wife Paula Alicia who he was married to for 59 yrs, his sister Consuelo, children; Ray, Joe, Alicia, Mario, Robert, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father and a cherished grandfather. He will be remembered as a very giving person who assisted those in need. He was a joy to be around and had so many stories to tell. His passion was training and riding horses. He participated in several events and parades with his fellow Charros. Ramon was a pioneer in the Hispanic Business Community by being one of the first to assist his community to help establish their credit history. He was an avid supporter of his community serving on numerous boards and commissions including being a member of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and served as President of The Dallas Charros Association. He received numerous awards including the Quality and Excellence Entrepreneur Award. He was a generous supporter of various charities and local churches. The Rosary will be at 4:00 at the funeral home with visitation following. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 at San Juan Diego Church located at 10150 Monroe Drive on Tuesday, January 3rd.
